Description
The Luminis is a 40cm outdoor bollard light built from die-cast aluminium in a grey powder-coat finish, with a Pyrex glass top section housing a single E27 bulb fitting. The glass diffuser spreads light outward and downward in a louvred pattern, providing path illumination without glare at eye level.
Designed for pathway marking, driveway borders, garden bed edges and patio perimeters, the bollard sits low enough to mark a route without obstructing sightlines. The IP65 rating makes it suitable for year-round outdoor use in rain, frost and snow. The bollard fixes to a hard surface via a 155mm circular base plate with three pre-drilled holes for bolting to concrete, paving or decking.
The grey finish sits between light stone paving and dark charcoal metal, allowing the bollard to work with both traditional landscaping and contemporary monochrome schemes. The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion and impact damage better than steel alternatives. The E27 fitting accepts any standard bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose the light output and colour temperature to suit the application.
The Luminis is covered by a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, the Italian manufacturer. The bollard is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED bulb and dimmer switch on the supply circuit.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the bollard is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in rain, snow and frost. The rating does not cover full submersion, so avoid installing in areas prone to flooding or standing water.
What bulb should I use?
The bollard takes any standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users choose a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting. Bulbs are sold separately. For dimming, pair with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer on the circuit.
How is it installed?
The 155mm circular base plate has three pre-drilled holes for bolting to concrete, paving slabs or timber decking. The electrical cable enters through a knockout in the base. Installation requires a qualified electrician to connect to mains supply and ensure weatherproof cable glands are used.
What spacing is recommended between bollards?
For continuous pathway illumination, space bollards 3-5 metres apart depending on bulb wattage and the width of the path. For accent lighting or driveway marking, wider spacing of 5-8 metres works for most applications.
