Description
The Luminis is a 40cm outdoor bollard light built from die-cast aluminium with a brown powder-coated finish and a Pyrex glass diffuser. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP65 rating, protecting against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK climates.
Designed for garden paths, driveways, patio edges and lawn borders, the 40cm height positions the light source low enough to illuminate ground-level surfaces without causing glare at eye level when walking. The Pyrex glass cylinder contains internal aluminium louvres that direct light downwards and outwards, reducing upward light spill while casting even illumination across pathways and planting beds. The 155mm diameter base sits flush on concrete, paving slabs or hard-packed gravel.
The brown finish gives the bollard a warmer, more organic appearance than typical graphite or black outdoor fittings, pairing well with natural stone, terracotta, weathered timber and planted borders. The die-cast aluminium construction resists rust and corrosion, while the Pyrex glass withstands impacts and thermal shock better than standard borosilicate. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible E27 LED bulb and dimmer system, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of evening.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Luminis take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 bulb, sold separately. For outdoor use, most buyers pair it with a warm-white LED bulb rated 6-10W and 2700K-3000K. The fitting is dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable LED bulb and dimmer system.
Can it be installed on grass or soil?
The 155mm diameter base is designed to sit on hard surfaces such as concrete, paving slabs or compacted gravel. For installation on grass or soil, a concrete or paving base must be laid first to support the bollard and prevent tilting or sinking over time.
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. It can be installed in exposed positions such as open gardens, driveways and patios, and will withstand rain, snow and hose-down cleaning.
How is the bollard wired?
The bollard requires mains voltage supply (230V) run underground in armoured cable or suitable outdoor-rated conduit. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P Building Regulations and BS 7671 wiring standards.
