Description

The Lucidia is a 400mm diameter lampshade built around a PVC core wrapped in black fabric, with a white inner lining that reflects light back through the shade opening. The tapered drum shape narrows slightly from base to top, creating a softer profile than a straight cylinder while maintaining the structured geometry of a classic drum shade.

Designed as a replacement shade or to customise existing lamp bases, the Lucidia fits standard pendant, table lamp and floor lamp fittings. The 400mm diameter suits mid-sized table lamps in living rooms and bedrooms, or pendant drops over side tables and reading corners where a softer light pool is needed than a smaller shade would provide. The black fabric exterior absorbs ambient light, directing the majority of the output downwards and through the bottom aperture.

The fabric is stretched taut over the PVC frame without visible wrinkles or gathers, and the white lining prevents the black exterior from absorbing all the light output when the lamp is on. The combination gives controlled downward throw with a small amount of upward spill, making the shade suitable for rooms where task lighting is needed without excessive glare. The PVC core provides shape retention without adding significant weight, and the fabric surface can be dusted with a soft brush attachment.
