Description

The Lucent is a 97mm square surface-mounted LED downlight with a matt white aluminium body and an integrated 25W LED module running at 3000K. The light sits proud of the ceiling rather than recessed, making it suitable for installations where ceiling void depth is limited or where surface wiring is preferred. An internal plastic diffuser evens out the light distribution and reduces glare from the LED source.

Designed for hallways, corridors, retail spaces, and rooms with shallow ceiling voids or concrete ceilings where recessed fittings cannot be installed, the Lucent provides general downward illumination without needing to cut into the ceiling structure. The 97mm footprint keeps the visual impact minimal while the white finish allows the fitting to blend into white or light-coloured ceilings. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas away from bathrooms and wet zones.

The aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the LED module, allowing the 25W output to run without active cooling or visible ventilation slots. The matt white finish is powder-coated rather than painted, so it resists chipping and discolouration under typical indoor conditions. The downlight is not dimmable — it runs at fixed brightness when powered on. Installation requires connection to mains 230V via a ceiling rose or junction box, with the downlight fixed to the ceiling surface using screws through the mounting plate.

The LED is integrated into the module and is not user-replaceable. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux. After this period, if the LED fails, the entire unit would need replacing.
