Description
The Lucent is a 104mm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight with an integrated 25W 3000K LED inside a matt white aluminium housing. A moulded plastic lens inside the body diffuses the LED output evenly across the aperture, reducing direct glare while maintaining a clear downward throw of light suitable for task areas, hallways and general room lighting.
Designed for ceiling mounting in residential and commercial interiors with standard 230V mains wiring, the Lucent requires no recessing or cutting of joists. The surface-mount format means it can be retrofitted onto existing ceilings or added to solid soffits, concrete ceilings and false-ceiling grids where recessed fittings are impractical. The 104mm footprint covers approximately the same area as a typical GU10 recessed downlight but projects 50-60mm from the ceiling surface once installed.
The matt white finish on the aluminium body blends into white or off-white ceilings in contemporary, minimalist and commercial fit-outs. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white light balanced for residential comfort without the yellow cast of 2700K or the clinical tone of 4000K. The integrated LED removes the need for separate lamp replacement, with the 25W output delivering approximately 2,000-2,500 lumens depending on efficiency ratings.
The Lucent carries an IP20 rating, restricting it to dry indoor locations only. It is not dimmable on standard triac dimmers. Ideal Lux backs the fitting with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and LED driver failure.

Frequently Asked
Can this be dimmed?
No. The integrated LED driver is not dimmable on standard UK triac or leading-edge dimmers. Installing a dimmer will either cause the light to flicker or not illuminate at all.
Does it require recessing into the ceiling?
No. The Lucent is surface-mounted and fixes directly onto the ceiling surface using screws and wall plugs. It projects approximately 50-60mm below the ceiling once installed, making it suitable for solid concrete ceilings, false-ceiling grids and locations where recessing is impractical.
What colour is the light output?
The integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light. This sits between the warmer 2700K residential tone and the cooler 4000K commercial white, offering balanced colour rendering suitable for living rooms, hallways and offices.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating restricts the Lucent to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones 1, 2 or 3 where moisture or direct water contact is present. For bathrooms, an IP44 or IP65-rated fitting is required.
