Description
The Louvre is a 6 light chandelier built around a rectangular graphite-finished metal frame measuring 493mm square by 402mm tall, with clear glass horizontal slats forming the four sides. Six E27 bulb fittings sit centrally within the frame on separate downrods, each accepting a standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The graphite finish is a dark charcoal-grey powder coat with a low-sheen surface.
Designed for dining rooms, hallways and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Louvre requires 491mm minimum clearance below the ceiling rose when the chain is fully shortened, and can be extended on the 1500mm chain to a maximum drop of 3519mm depending on ceiling height and desired hanging position. The glass slats diffuse light horizontally while the open top and bottom of the frame allow vertical light spread, giving a mix of ambient and decorative lighting rather than focused task light.
The horizontal glass slats are individually fitted into the metal frame and run parallel across each face of the rectangular structure, creating a louvred appearance that references mid-century industrial lighting. The graphite frame provides structural rigidity and a defined outline when the chandelier is viewed from any angle. The open-sided construction means the bulbs are visible through the glass, so exposed filament bulbs (squirrel cage, globe or teardrop styles) are commonly paired with the Louvre to carry through the industrial aesthetic.
The chandelier arrives with all mounting hardware, a ceiling rose cover in matching graphite finish, and the adjustable chain. The weight and size require secure fixing to a ceiling joist or supporting beam — standard plasterboard fixings are not suitable.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Louvre take?
The chandelier takes six E27 bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Most users pair the Louvre with exposed filament LED bulbs (squirrel cage, globe or teardrop styles) in 4-8W and warm white 2200K-2700K to complement the industrial frame and visible bulb holders.
What ceiling height is needed?
The minimum drop from ceiling to the base of the chandelier is 491mm when the chain is fully shortened. For dining table placement the base typically sits 750-900mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Higher ceilings can use the full 1500mm chain length.
Can the chain length be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The chain can be shortened or lengthened during installation by removing or adding links. Any excess chain is typically concealed within the ceiling rose cover once the desired drop is set.
How are the glass slats cleaned?
The glass slats can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully before cleaning. The horizontal orientation of the slats means dust settles on the top edges more than the faces, so periodic dusting prevents build-up.
