Description

Made from steel, glass and PMMA, our Lemon Squeeze Penta Ceiling Light Short in Plated Brass brings together materials we return to again and again for their weight and clarity. Five upright glass tubes rise on gently curved arms from a central stem, each one catching the light differently as it climbs. The plated brass finish gives the metalwork a warm, mellow tone that we find works beautifully against both pale and darker settings, while the tubes keep the whole piece feeling open rather than heavy. At 7.9kg, it has a reassuring solidity without ever looking bulky.

The Short version measures 68.8cm in diameter and adjusts between a minimum height of 97.5cm and a maximum of 152.5cm, so we can position it to suit lower ceilings or a spot above a dining table where a little more drop is wanted. It takes 5 × GU10 bulbs, each up to a maximum of 15W LED, which are not included so you can choose the colour temperature you prefer, whether that is a soft 2700K glow or something cooler and crisper. It is also compatible with Focused Idea, sold separately, if you want more directional light from the tubes.

We have kept the design straightforward to live with. Assembly takes around 20 minutes, and once it is up the sculptural arrangement of tubes does the work, throwing light upward and outward in a way that suits a hallway, a kitchen or a seating area equally well. The mix of glass and plated brass means it reads as decorative even when switched off, sitting quietly overhead until the moment it is needed. For us, the appeal lies in that balance between the technical and the playful, a ceiling light that earns its place without demanding constant attention.
