The Lantern is a 35cm pendant light built around a white metal drum shade with a laser-cut forest pattern that lets light through in dappled patches. Inside the metal drum sits a white etched glass liner that diffuses the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately), softening the shadows cast by the cut pattern. A turned wood detail between the canopy and shade adds a natural material accent to the otherwise minimal white finish.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room focal points, the Lantern works in spaces where ambient and decorative lighting are both needed. The adjustable cable allows the pendant to hang between 47cm and 120cm total drop from the ceiling, giving flexibility to suit different ceiling heights and table positions. The 35cm shade diameter suits dining tables between 120-180cm in length or kitchen islands of similar size.

The white metal outer shade is coated in a matte finish that absorbs rather than reflects room light, keeping attention on the patterned light projection rather than the fitting itself. The etched glass liner prevents direct glare from the bulb while allowing enough brightness through the cut pattern to create a forest-shadow effect on nearby walls and ceilings. What bulb does it take?

The Lantern takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K to suit the soft, ambient character of the fitting.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

Yes. The cable can be shortened or lengthened between 47cm and 120cm total drop during installation. Once the canopy is fixed to the ceiling the drop length is set, but it can be adjusted again if the pendant is removed and refitted.

Does the pattern project onto walls and ceilings?

Yes. The laser-cut forest pattern in the white metal shade casts dappled shadows onto nearby surfaces when the light is on. The etched glass liner softens these projections so they appear as gentle shadows rather than hard-edged cutouts.

What room height is needed?

For a dining table or kitchen island, the Lantern typically hangs 70-80cm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of around 2.4m or higher when using the minimum 47cm drop. Lower ceilings can work if the pendant is used over a counter or sideboard rather than a table.
