Description

The Lantern is a single-pendant fitting with an antique brass E27 lamp holder, a knurled on/off switch built into the holder body, and a black twisted fabric cable. The fitting is designed for exposed-bulb styling, where the bulb itself becomes the visual feature and the brass holder acts as a framing accent rather than a shade.

Designed for use over kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and workbenches, the Lantern works where multiple pendants are hung in a row or as a single fitting in smaller spaces. The 2000mm cable drop can be shortened during installation to suit different ceiling heights, with most installations positioning the bulb 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-900mm above a dining surface. The built-in switch on the lamp holder allows the light to be turned on and off without needing a separate wall switch, useful in garages, workshops and utility rooms.

The antique brass finish is a mid-tone warm brass with a slightly aged patina, darker than polished brass but lighter than oil-rubbed bronze. The knurled texture on the switch provides grip and adds industrial detailing. The fitting accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over light colour, brightness and bulb style — globe, squirrel-cage, vintage filament or standard LED all pair with this holder.

What bulb does it take?

The Lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a vintage-style filament LED globe, squirrel-cage bulb, or standard LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K).

Is the cable length adjustable?

The cable is 2000mm as supplied and can be shortened during installation by an electrician to suit your ceiling height and the height of the surface below. The excess cable can be coiled inside the ceiling rose.

Does the built-in switch replace the need for a wall switch?

The knurled switch on the lamp holder allows the light to be turned on and off at the fitting itself. This is useful in workshops, garages and utility rooms but does not replace the need for an electrician to install the fitting to a standard ceiling circuit.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathrooms, outdoor use or any location where moisture or splashing water is present.
