Description
The Langton is a flush downlight finished in brass, built from brass, metal and glass and designed to sit close to the ceiling rather than hang down into the room. It measures 35cm across with a 22.5cm projection, so it holds a reasonably deep, rounded shape while still reading as a flush fitting. It takes a single E27 lamp, which makes it a simple, single point of light rather than a multi arm fitting, and the brass finish gives it a warm, traditional edge without being fussy.
Because it is a flush fitting, it works best in rooms with lower ceilings, such as hallways, landings, box rooms and smaller bedrooms, where a pendant would hang too low or feel out of proportion. A single lamp gives a soft pool of ambient light rather than broad, even coverage, so it suits spaces that need gentle general lighting rather than a bright task light. It is an easy fit for a period cottage or a smaller modern room where you still want a touch of warmth overhead.
We finish it in brass, which pairs naturally with warm wood, cream walls and other heritage tones, and it will age gracefully rather than looking dated. Wipe it over with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from abrasive cleaners that could mark the metal or the glass. Fit a compatible dimmable lamp with a suitable dimmer and it dims smoothly too, bringing the light down low for the evening, and it forms part of our wider Langton range of ceiling lights.

Frequently Asked
What size room does the Langton suit?
At 35cm across, the Langton sits well in hallways, landings and smaller bedrooms rather than large open rooms, giving one neat point of light without crowding the ceiling.
How close to the ceiling does it sit?
It has a 22.5cm projection, so it sits close to the ceiling in true flush style, which suits rooms with standard or slightly lower ceiling heights.
What bulb does it take, and is it included?
It takes a single E27 lamp rated up to 10W. The lamp is not included, so you can choose your own, and a warm white LED lamp will give a cosy glow while keeping running costs down.
Is the Langton dimmable?
Yes. Fit it with a compatible dimmable lamp and a suitable dimmer switch and you can take it from bright to low.
How do I look after the brass finish?
Wipe it over with a soft, dry cloth from time to time. Avoid abrasive or damp cleaning products, which could mark the brass or the glass.
