Description

The Krone is a 45cm-wide crystal pendant light built around a continuous spiral ribbon frame in gold-finish metal, studded with baguette-cut crystal prisms along its entire length. The ribbon spirals through approximately 2.5 rotations from top to bottom, creating a twisted helix form that catches light from multiple angles. An integrated 48W LED strip runs along the inside edge of the ribbon, illuminating the crystals from within and casting prismatic reflections across surrounding surfaces.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells, and voids above dining tables in open-plan living spaces, the Krone requires a minimum ceiling height of 3m to accommodate its 77cm compressed drop, with adjustable cable allowing extension to 374cm for taller spaces. The spiral form presents differently depending on viewing angle — narrow and vertical when seen from the side, wider and more circular when viewed from directly below. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light with a CRI of 90, rendering skin tones and interior colours accurately.

The gold finish on the metal frame is a mid-tone brushed brass rather than polished or antique, reducing glare under daylight while maintaining a warm metallic presence. Each baguette crystal is individually set into the ribbon frame, and the LED strip positioning means light refracts through the crystal edges rather than simply reflecting off their surfaces. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces. The combined weight of the metal spiral, crystal prisms and LED components requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling rose rated for suspension loads.

The integrated 48W LED is compatible with most leading-edge dimmers, but dimmer compatibility varies by model. We recommend testing with your specific dimmer before final installation, or contacting us for confirmed compatible dimmer switches.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum compressed drop is 77cm, so a ceiling height of at least 3m is recommended to allow clearance below the pendant. The adjustable cable extends to 374cm, making the Krone suitable for double-height voids, stairwells and galleried landings up to 5m ceiling height.

How is the spiral oriented during installation?

The spiral hangs freely on the suspension cables and will orient itself under gravity once the cable length is set. The ribbon twist is fixed during manufacture, so the spiral configuration cannot be adjusted — it presents as a continuous helix viewed from any angle.

Can the crystals be cleaned?

The baguette crystals can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth or a cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Avoid spray cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can leave residue on the crystal surfaces or damage the gold finish on the metal frame.
