Description

The Kriss is a 40cm spherical glass pendant with a smoked black outer shell and a ribbed inner diffuser suspended inside it. A single GU10 bulb (sold separately) sits within the ribbed diffuser, casting light through both the inner element and the smoked glass sphere to create a layered glow. The black fabric-wrapped cable and matching black canopy complete the minimal fitting.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallway positions where a single overhead focal point is needed, the Kriss works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 400-1800mm adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set at the correct height for a specific application — typically 650-750mm above a dining surface or 1200-1400mm in a hallway. The 40cm diameter gives presence without dominating, fitting comfortably over 1.2-1.6m wide tables.

The smoked glass finish absorbs some of the light output and softens the bulb's brightness, so the Kriss acts as both ambient and decorative lighting rather than focused task light. The ribbed texture on the inner diffuser spreads the light through the smoke-toned outer sphere, creating depth and visual interest when the lamp is on. Pairing the Kriss with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible dimmer allows control over brightness for different times of day. The Kriss takes a single GU10 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 5-7W LED in 2700K-3000K warm white for ambient dining or hallway lighting. The smoked glass absorbs some light output, so a slightly higher wattage than you might use in a clear glass pendant is advisable.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will function but cannot be dimmed. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before pairing.

What height should it hang at?

Over a dining table, the bottom of the pendant typically sits 650-750mm above the table surface. In a hallway or open space, hang it at least 2m above floor level to avoid head clearance issues. The drop is adjustable between 400mm and 1800mm on installation.

How is the inner diffuser held in place?
