Made from solid oak and polyester, our Komorebi Circle Lampshade Medium brings a warm, natural material into everyday lighting. The oak lends this shade its soft honeyed tone, and we have arranged the wood as a set of parallel vertical dowels set in a circular form. This is not a solid or smooth shade; instead the dowels sit slightly apart, so light passes between them and casts a gentle patterned glow across the surrounding walls. The name Komorebi refers to sunlight filtered through leaves, and that dappled effect is exactly what we set out to recreate here.

The design suits both a table lamp base and a pendant flex, so it is made easy to use in more than one setting. It measures 29.4cm in diameter and stands 26cm tall, a size that reads well over a side table, a reading nook or a dining table without dominating the space. At 0.95kg it is light to handle and quick to hang, and assembly takes around five minutes. We recommend an E27 fitting with a maximum 15W LED bulb, which is not included so you can choose a warm colour temperature such as 2700K to bring out the oak's natural warmth.
