Klampenborg 1 Light Bollard - Silver

The Klampenborg is a 1m outdoor bollard built from 304-grade stainless steel with a silver powder-coated finish and a single E27 bulb fitting under a flat canopy. The canopy shades the bulb from above while a clear cylindrical glass surround protects it from rain and wind, allowing light to spread horizontally across paths and planted borders.

Designed for pathways, driveways and garden edges, the bollard casts downward and sideways light without upward light pollution. The IP44 rating protects against rain splash and dust ingress, making it suitable for year-round UK outdoor use. The 275mm canopy diameter provides enough spread to mark pathway edges or gate posts without requiring multiple fittings every few metres. Installation involves a below-ground base plate or surface-mounted fixing depending on ground type.

The silver powder coat over stainless steel resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments where painted mild steel bollards would rust within a few seasons. The cylindrical glass surround sits within a metal cage, reducing the risk of breakage from garden tools or minor impacts. The bollard accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and lumen output based on the width of the area being lit. The Klampenborg takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting. Higher lumen outputs suit driveways; lower outputs suit planted borders.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

Yes. The 304-grade stainless steel construction and powder-coated finish resist salt corrosion better than painted mild steel or aluminium bollards. The IP44 rating protects the internal wiring from rain and sea spray.

How is it installed?

The bollard can be surface-mounted onto a concrete base or fixed into the ground using a below-ground base plate depending on soil type and pathway construction. An electrician will typically run armoured cable from the mains to the bollard location and connect via the internal terminal block.

How far apart should bollards be spaced?

Spacing depends on the bulb lumen output and the width of the path. For a typical 1.2m-wide path using 800-1000 lumen warm-white LEDs, spacing bollards 3-4m apart provides continuous low-level light without dark gaps. Wider drives may need closer spacing or higher-output bulbs.
