Description

The Kilimanjaro is a 650mm ceiling fan light with a handwoven brown rattan shade concealing retractable fan blades and an integrated tuneable-white LED. The rattan frame is woven in a natural basket-weave pattern over a white internal diffuser, with the fan mechanism housed behind a central white dome. When the fan is activated via remote control, the blades extend through apertures in the rattan weave; when switched off, they retract flush with the dome, leaving only the rattan shade visible from below.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms and dining areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Kilimanjaro offers both ambient lighting and airflow in a single fitting. The integrated LED provides 4200 lumens at 105W power consumption, with colour temperature adjustable from warm 2700K to cool 5000K via the included remote. The 120° beam angle spreads light across a typical 4m x 4m room. The fan operates at low noise levels suitable for bedrooms, with speed controlled in stages through the remote rather than a wall switch.

The rattan is handwoven, so minor variation in weave density and tonal colour occurs between individual units. The fitting can be mounted flush against the ceiling (205mm total height from ceiling surface to bottom of shade) or semi-flush with a drop rod (250mm total height), depending on ceiling type and desired visual presence. The white internal diffuser prevents the fan mechanism and wiring from being visible through the gaps in the rattan weave. At 4kg, the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced mounting point rather than a standard plasterboard ceiling rose.

How is the colour temperature and fan speed controlled?

Both the LED colour temperature (2700K to 5000K) and fan speed are adjusted via the included remote control. The fitting does not support wall-mounted dimmer switches or speed controllers.

Can it be installed on a standard plasterboard ceiling?

The 4kg weight requires fixing to a ceiling joist or a reinforced mounting point. A standard plasterboard ceiling rose is not sufficient to support the load safely. Check the ceiling structure before installation or consult a qualified electrician.

Do the fan blades stay hidden when not in use?

Yes. When the fan is switched off, the blades retract flush with the central white dome, leaving only the rattan shade visible from below. The blades extend through gaps in the rattan weave when the fan is activated.

What room size does it suit?

The 650mm diameter and 120° beam angle suit rooms up to approximately 4m x 4m. The 4200 lumens provide sufficient ambient light for a bedroom, living room or dining area without needing additional ceiling lights.
