Description

The Kilda is a 9.5cm globe pendant light with a matt black metal cap fitted over a frosted opal glass sphere, suspended on a cable from a surface-mounted black canopy. The integrated 10W LED inside the globe produces 800 lumens at 3000K warm white, casting downward-focused light through the lower half of the sphere while the black cap shields upward glare.

Designed for task lighting over kitchen counters, breakfast bars, home office desks and bathroom vanities, the Kilda provides concentrated light below while the compact 9.5cm diameter allows multiple pendants to be grouped without visual clutter. The 2500mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, with the minimum 210mm drop placing the globe close to the ceiling for lower installations or recessed mounting scenarios. The surface-mounted canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable entry point.

The matt black powder-coated finish on the metal cap and canopy absorbs reflections rather than bouncing them around the room, making the Kilda suitable for monitor-adjacent positions in home offices and for bathrooms where mirror-facing glare needs control. The frosted glass lower half diffuses the LED point source into an even disc of light, reducing harsh shadows under the pendant. At 0.65kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard ceilings without additional support.

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 10W output on 200-240V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

Can multiple Kilda pendants be installed in a row?

Yes. The 9.5cm diameter is compact enough to allow spacing of 300-400mm between pendants over a kitchen island or bar counter without the fittings crowding each other visually. The surface-mounted canopy on each pendant is wired independently to the ceiling circuit.

What drop height works best over a counter?

For task lighting over a kitchen counter or breakfast bar, position the bottom of the globe 600-750mm above the worktop surface. This typically requires a 1200-1400mm drop from a standard 2.4m ceiling height, well within the 2500mm maximum cable length.

Is the glass replaceable if damaged?
