Kilda 9.5cm Recessed LED Pendant Light 10W 3000K - Black

The Kilda is a 9.5cm recessed LED pendant light with a half-sphere opal acrylic diffuser and a matt black metal cap, suspended on a thin cable from a recessed ceiling housing. The integrated 10W LED produces 800 lumens of warm 3000K light, with the acrylic diffusing the output downward and outward in a soft wash. The black cap sits above the diffuser to block upward glare and define the upper edge of the pendant.

Designed for recessed installation in plasterboard or timber ceilings with a minimum 50mm void depth above, the Kilda suits contemporary kitchens, hallways, bathrooms (outside wet zones) and commercial reception areas where a clean, minimal ceiling line is needed. The cable drop is adjustable between 140mm and 2500mm during installation, allowing the pendant to be set at different heights depending on ceiling height and the distance to the surface below. Multiple Kilda pendants can be run in a line above kitchen islands or along corridors to provide evenly-spaced downlighting without visible ceiling roses or surface-mounted back boxes.

The 95mm diameter pendant weighs 0.65kg and the recessed housing requires a 50mm circular cut-out in the ceiling. The matt black finish absorbs light and reduces reflections, so the pendant reads as a dark silhouette against the white diffuser when lit. The opal acrylic is impact-resistant and does not discolour under continuous LED heat. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that renders skin tones and natural materials accurately without the cool blue cast of higher-temperature LEDs. The fitting is non-dimmable and runs on standard 230V mains without external drivers or transformers.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 50mm void above the plasterboard or ceiling surface is needed to accommodate the recessed housing. The 50mm cut-out accepts the housing which sits flush with the ceiling, leaving only the pendant visible below.

Is the Kilda suitable for bathrooms?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Kilda is suitable for general bathroom use outside wet zones (zones 0, 1 and 2). It should not be installed directly above baths, showers or within arm's reach of water sources.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The cable drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length before locking it into the ceiling housing. Once installed, changing the drop height requires accessing the ceiling void to re-adjust the cable, so it's worth setting the correct drop on first fitting.

How is the opal diffuser cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply, allow the LED to cool, then wipe the acrylic diffuser gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the pendant or using household cleaning sprays which can damage the matt black finish.
