Description

The Jenkins is a table lamp built around a curved polished nickel arm that arcs from a circular base up and over a 330mm diameter hardback linen shade. A clear crystal ball sits on the base stem between the plinth and the arm, catching and refracting ambient light when the lamp is both on and off. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), housed inside the off-white linen shade.

Designed for bedside tables, side tables in living rooms and desks in home offices, the 622mm overall height positions the centre of the shade at approximately eye level when seated. The arc configuration keeps the bulb and shade offset from the base footprint, allowing the lamp to reach over stacked books, a charging phone or a small bedside clock without casting shadow directly below. The polished nickel finish reflects light cleanly and pairs well with cool-toned fabrics, marble surfaces and mirror frames.

The linen shade diffuses the bulb's output evenly in all directions rather than directing it down like a desk lamp, so the Jenkins functions as ambient and decorative lighting rather than task lighting. The crystal ball accent adds visual weight to the base and prevents the curved arm from reading as top-heavy. The off-white linen softens the metallic finish and provides texture contrast against the hard surfaces of the nickel and crystal.

What bulb does it take?

The Jenkins takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or living room use.

How much table space does it need?

The circular base has a diameter of approximately 150-180mm and the arc extends the shade 533mm horizontally from the base centre. Allow at least 600mm of clear table width for comfortable placement.

Is the crystal ball removable?

The crystal ball is a decorative accent fixed to the lamp stem during manufacture. It is not designed to be removed and doing so may affect the structural integrity of the arm assembly.

Can it be used with a dimmer?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you fit. LED bulbs must be labelled as dimmable to work with a dimmer switch or inline dimmer cable. Standard non-dimmable LEDs will flicker or fail to dim if used with a dimmer.
