Description

The JCB Ultra Alkaline AAA battery is a 1.5V LR03 cell using alkaline chemistry to deliver higher capacity and longer runtime than standard zinc-carbon batteries. This 4-pack contains four individual AAA cells suitable for remote controls, digital cameras, wireless keyboards, computer mice, torches, clocks, and other devices requiring AAA power.

Alkaline batteries store more energy density than zinc-carbon equivalents and maintain voltage output more consistently under medium to high-drain loads. The JCB Ultra Alkaline range claims up to ten times the performance of zinc-carbon cells in digital camera use, where the camera's power draw is intermittent but high. For low-drain devices such as remote controls and wall clocks, the runtime advantage is less pronounced but still measurable.

Each battery is constructed with a leak-resistant seal designed to prevent electrolyte leakage during normal shelf life and use. The packaging includes a hanging tab for retail display and the batteries are supplied in a blister tray that keeps the four cells organised during storage. The JCB branding ties into the wider JCB product ecosystem, which includes tools and equipment requiring reliable battery power in trade and industrial settings.

Frequently Asked

What devices are these batteries suitable for?

AAA alkaline batteries power remote controls, wireless keyboards and mice, digital cameras, torches, wall clocks, toys, and other devices specifying AAA or LR03 cells. They are better suited to medium and high-drain devices than zinc-carbon alternatives.

How long do alkaline AAA batteries last?

Runtime depends on the device's power draw. In a remote control with infrequent use, alkaline AAA cells can last 12-18 months or longer. In a digital camera or high-output torch, runtime may be measured in hours of active use. Alkaline chemistry provides longer runtime than zinc-carbon under all conditions.

Are these batteries rechargeable?

No. Alkaline batteries are single-use primary cells and should not be recharged. Attempting to recharge alkaline cells can cause leakage, rupture or heat generation. For rechargeable AAA power, NiMH rechargeable batteries are the appropriate choice.

What is the shelf life?

Alkaline AAA batteries typically have a shelf life of 5-10 years when stored at room temperature in unopened packaging. Once a battery is installed in a device, its remaining capacity depends on the device's standby drain and environmental conditions.

Shipping & Returns

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund.
