Description
Solid oak in a warm dark finish gives our Italic Dark Oak Sideboard its steady, grounded presence, and we chose the material for the way its grain carries colour and depth across every panel. The two sliding doors are cut with a diagonal grain that runs at an angle rather than straight down, a small detail we like because it catches the light differently as you move past it. Set on four round legs, this low sideboard keeps a lighter footprint than its 135cm width might suggest, and the wood is warm enough to sit comfortably in a living room, a hallway or a dining space.
It is built to hold what a home needs to tuck away. Behind the two sliding doors you get fully enclosed storage, so there is no glass on show and nothing on display unless you want it there. The shelf inside takes an evenly distributed load of up to 15kg, while the top surface holds up to 50kg when the weight is spread out, which leaves you room for a table lamp base, a stack of books or a run of framed photographs. At 73.4cm high and 48cm deep, it sits at a useful working height, and the sliding doors mean you never need clearance in front to open them.
Made from solid oak, MDF and oak veneer, it weighs 51kg, so we suggest two people for moving and positioning it once it arrives. Assembly takes around 20 minutes, and we keep the steps straightforward so you can have it in place quickly. We think of this sideboard as a piece that earns its keep quietly, giving you honest storage and a warm wood finish that settles into a room and stays there. Wipe it down now and then and it will keep its look for years.
