Description
At 135cm wide and 73.4cm tall, our Italic Dark Oak Sideboard gives you generous storage without dominating a room, and its 48cm depth means we can sit it comfortably against a wall in a hallway, living room or dining space. The proportions are low and steady, so the top makes a natural home for a table lamp base, a few books or a run of framed photographs. With a maximum load of 50kg across the top when the weight is spread evenly, there is room for everyday pieces as well as the occasional serving tray when you have guests over.
The design pairs two sliding doors that move past one another to reveal the interior in halves. One door is solid dark oak with a diagonal grain that runs across its face, while the other is reeded glass, so half of the shelf stays enclosed and half stays on view behind the textured pane. We like this balance because it lets you tuck away the clutter you would rather not see while keeping your nicer glassware or ceramics visible. The internal shelf takes up to 15kg per shelf, again with the weight distributed evenly, which suits tableware, linens or media accessories. It stands on four round legs that lift the body off the floor and keep the whole thing feeling light.
The Italic is made from solid oak, MDF, tempered glass and oak veneer, finished in a warm dark oak tone with a wood and glass fronting. It weighs 51kg once assembled, and we have kept assembly straightforward, with a typical build time of around 20 minutes. Made for indoor use, it works as well in a busy family room as it does in a quieter study, and we think its clean lines will settle happily alongside the rest of our homeware range.
