Description
The Inglenook is an outdoor wall lantern with a stained glass shade set in a valiant bronze metal frame, measuring 314mm high by 215mm wide with a 261mm projection from the wall. The shade uses amber, cream and sapphire blue glass panels in an Arts & Crafts geometric pattern, arranged around a single E27 bulb fitting inside the lantern housing.
Designed for porch entrances, patio walls and garden pathways, the lantern carries an IP44 rating for outdoor use in UK weather conditions, protecting against splashing water from any direction. The metal frame and roof canopy shield the glass panels from direct rain while allowing the light to cast coloured patterns on adjacent walls and paving. The curved arm bracket mounts to a standard outdoor electrical back box and positions the lantern body approximately 260mm from the wall, giving clearance above door frames and away from render or brick surfaces.
The valiant bronze finish is a mid-tone weathered bronze with warm brown undertones, darker than polished brass but lighter than oil-rubbed bronze. The finish pairs with traditional brick, stone and timber-clad exteriors common in Arts & Crafts and cottage-style architecture. The stained glass panels are cut and soldered in the Tiffany method, with copper foil joins visible between each piece of glass, giving texture and definition to the pattern when lit. The lantern accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately.
Quoizel manufactures the Inglenook in the US and provides a 3-year guarantee covering defects in materials and workmanship. The metal frame is powder-coated for corrosion resistance, and the glass panels are sealed with silicone to prevent moisture ingress at the joints.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 provides protection against splashing water from any direction, making this lantern suitable for covered porch areas, patio walls under eaves, and garden walls where it receives some shelter from direct downpours. It is not rated for full exposure to driving rain or submersion.
What bulb is recommended?
The lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the amber and cream tones in the stained glass. Bulbs are sold separately.
How is the stained glass constructed?
The glass panels are cut and assembled using the Tiffany copper foil method, where each piece of coloured glass is wrapped in copper foil and soldered together. This creates the visible metallic joins between the amber, cream and blue glass sections.
Can it be installed on a rendered or painted wall?
Yes. The bracket mounts to a standard outdoor electrical back box and sits flush against rendered, painted, brick or stone walls. The 261mm projection keeps the heated lantern body clear of the wall surface, preventing discolouration of paint or render over time.
