Description

The Hood is a matt white outdoor LED wall light with a square adjustable head housing a 12W integrated LED module that outputs 1100 lumens at 3000K warm white. The head can be angled on installation to direct light downwards onto paving, horizontally along a wall, or upwards onto a facade, giving flexibility in how the 1100lm beam is distributed across the mounting surface.

Rated IP65, the Hood is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls, covered patios, garden walls and entrance porches. The 175mm width and 124mm projection from the wall give the fitting a compact footprint that works on narrow side passages and between windows without dominating the wall plane. The matt white powder-coated aluminium body resists UV degradation and coastal salt exposure better than painted finishes.

The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white band, producing light that's less stark than cool white LEDs but brighter than traditional halogen outdoor fittings. The 1100lm output is sufficient to light a 2-3m radius around the fitting when mounted at typical door-height (2m), making it effective as a porch light, side gate light, or to mark steps and level changes on exterior pathways. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but the module is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation — approximately 15 years at 4 hours per night.

The Hood mounts to a standard UK external back box via two screws concealed behind the head once fitted. The adjustable head rotates approximately 90 degrees from vertical downlight to horizontal wall-wash, locked in position with a brass bushing. The matt white finish pairs cleanly with render, painted brick, white cladding and light-grey exteriors, and provides contrast against dark timber or slate.
