The Hollis is a 2-light bathroom wall light built around two clear seeded glass globes set in matt black metal collars, mounted on a horizontal bar fixed to a domed backplate. Each globe houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately) and the seeded glass texture softens the light while adding visual depth. The IP44 rating allows the fitting to be used in bathroom zones 2 and 3, where moisture is present but direct water spray is unlikely.

Designed for installation above bathroom mirrors, along hallway walls in pairs, or flanking a fireplace or doorway in living spaces, the Hollis provides functional task lighting with Art Deco-inspired proportions. The 381mm width works over single-basin vanities and smaller mirrors without overwhelming the wall, while the 193mm projection gives clearance for head height when installed at standard bathroom mirror height of 1.5-1.7m. The horizontal bar and symmetrical globe arrangement give balanced illumination across a mirror or washbasin.

The seeded glass texture consists of small bubbles and imperfections cast into the glass during manufacture, creating a vintage aesthetic that references 1920s and 1930s American lighting. The matt black finish on the metal frame and collars provides high contrast against the clear glass and pairs with black tapware, dark grout, monochrome tiling and industrial-style interiors. Each globe accepts an E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs depending on the desired light temperature and brightness.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 is the area within 600mm of a bath, shower or basin; zone 3 is anywhere else in the bathroom. Do not install in zone 0 (inside the bath or shower) or zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower to a height of 2.25m).

What bulbs does it take?

Each globe takes one E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bathroom task lighting.

What is seeded glass?

Seeded glass contains small bubbles and imperfections deliberately introduced during manufacture to create a vintage or hand-blown appearance. The bubbles diffuse and soften the light slightly compared to clear glass, reducing glare while maintaining transparency.

What height should this be installed at?

For bathroom mirror lighting, the fitting is typically installed with the centre of the globes at 1.6-1.7m from the floor, which places the light at face height for most users. The 193mm projection requires adequate clearance above a vanity or sink to avoid head contact.
