Description
The Himalaya is a 630mm ceiling fan light combining a wood-effect brown cage frame with retractable fan blades, integrated 70W tuneable LED and DC motor control via remote, app or voice command. The outer cage structure houses four retractable blades that extend when the motor runs and retract flush when the fan is off, leaving only the decorative cage visible. An integrated LED panel at the centre delivers 4900lm output across a tuneable range from warm 2700K to cool 5000K, dimmable via the remote or app.
Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Himalaya provides both cooling airflow and ambient lighting in a single ceiling-mounted fitting. The DC motor operates at lower noise levels than AC motors and draws less power across its six-speed range. The 120° beam angle from the LED panel casts even light across a room up to 20m², while the fan's 630mm diameter generates airflow suitable for rooms up to 15-18m². The retractable blade mechanism means the fitting presents as a decorative cage light when the fan function is not in use.
The wood-effect finish on the metal cage gives a warm, natural tone that pairs with oak, walnut and other mid-tone timber furniture. The cage structure is formed from curved metal slats radiating from a central hub, creating a geometric pattern that casts subtle shadows when lit from within. Control options include a handheld RF remote (included), the app for iOS and Android, and voice commands via Alexa or Google Assistant once paired with a compatible smart home system. The tuneable white LED allows users to shift from warm evening light to cooler task light depending on time of day or activity.

Frequently Asked
How does the retractable blade mechanism work?
When the fan motor is off, the blades retract inward and sit flush within the cage frame, leaving only the decorative structure visible. When the motor is switched on, centrifugal force extends the blades outward into their operational position. This happens automatically. There is no manual deployment required.
What ceiling height is needed for safe installation?
The Himalaya's 192mm height projection from the ceiling requires a minimum room height of 2.4m to maintain the recommended 2.3m clearance beneath the fitting when installed. Rooms with lower ceilings may not provide adequate clearance for safe use.
Can the LED colour temperature and fan speed be controlled independently?
Yes. The remote, app and voice controls allow independent adjustment of LED brightness, colour temperature (2700K to 5000K), fan speed (six speeds plus off) and fan direction (forward/reverse for summer/winter modes).
What smart home systems does it work with?
The Himalaya integrates with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control once paired via the app. The app also provides direct control without voice assistants, and the RF remote works independently of any smart home setup.
