Designed for coastal and exposed locations, the Helsinki carries an IP54 rating against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for porches, garden walls, and patio areas where rain and spray are common. The tiered metal shades direct light downward and outward while the polycarbonate cylinder protects the bulb from direct weather contact. The fitting is constructed from grade 304 stainless steel with a graphite lacquer finish that will age naturally if left unmaintained, developing surface patina over time.

The 370mm height and 410mm width give the fitting substantial presence on large exterior walls, gable ends, and entrance porches where a bigger fixture is needed to balance the scale of the architecture. The graphite finish pairs with both traditional brick and rendered facades and contemporary dark cladding. The E27 socket accepts any standard LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W, allowing control over light colour and brightness to match the application.

What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP54 means the fitting is protected against dust ingress (IP5x) and water splashes from any direction (IPx4). It can handle rain, spray from garden hoses, and coastal moisture, but should not be submerged or subjected to direct high-pressure jets.

What bulb should I use?

The Helsinki takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W maximum. Most users install a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambient lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.

How far does it project from the wall?

The arm extends 580mm from the wall plate to the centre of the bulb housing. Allow clearance if mounting near doors, gates, or walkways where the projection might obstruct movement.

Will the graphite finish rust or change colour?
