Description
The Helixis is a 150mm cube-form outdoor downlight finished in brown powder-coated die-cast aluminium with a frosted tempered glass diffuser at the base. The fitting takes one GU10 bulb (sold separately) and projects 150mm from the ceiling, mounting to a standard electrical box via the rear plate. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porch ceilings, eaves, pergola beams and carport soffits.
Designed for surface mounting on horizontal or vertical surfaces, the Helixis directs light downward in a controlled beam that suits pathway lighting, doorway illumination, terrace edges and covered deck areas. The frosted glass diffuser reduces glare from the GU10 source while maintaining directional control, creating a defined pool of light rather than wide ambient spill. The 1550mm cable run allows for flexible positioning relative to the junction box during installation.
The brown finish on the die-cast aluminium body provides a warm, earth-toned accent that recedes into timber cladding, brick and stone surfaces more subtly than black or metallic finishes. The powder coating resists UV degradation and maintains colour stability under prolonged sun exposure. Pairing the Helixis with a warm-white GU10 LED (2700K-3000K, 5-7W) creates functional outdoor lighting that complements rather than dominates the architectural setting. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 dimmable bulb and dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Helixis take?
The fitting takes one standard GU10 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 5-7W warm-white LED GU10 (2700K-3000K) for outdoor pathway and porch lighting. Maximum wattage depends on the GU10 specification you choose.
Can it be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions such as under eaves, pergolas, porch ceilings and carport soffits. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to heavy rain or direct water jets (which would require IP65 or higher).
Is the Helixis dimmable?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but the bulb you choose must also be rated as dimmable.
How is it mounted?
The Helixis surface-mounts to a standard ceiling electrical box via the rear plate. The 1550mm cable run allows positioning flexibility during installation. The fitting projects 150mm from the mounting surface once installed.
