Description

The Helion is a 75cm picture light with an integrated 13.5W LED mounted behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, housed in a matt black powder-coated aluminium frame. Two LED modules inside the 750mm-long bar cast 3000K warm white light downwards onto the wall or artwork below, with the diffuser spreading the beam evenly across the picture surface to reduce shadowing and glare.

Designed to mount directly above framed art, mirrors or wall features, the Helion projects just 40mm from the wall once installed, keeping a low profile above the artwork. The 75cm length suits medium-sized frames between 60-90cm wide, providing balanced coverage without the light bar visually overwhelming the piece. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor rooms — living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and dining areas where artwork is displayed away from moisture.

The matt black aluminium frame pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors, providing a neutral backdrop that keeps visual focus on the artwork itself. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED output to prevent hot spots on the picture surface, and the 3000K colour temperature renders colours accurately without the cool blue cast of higher-temperature LEDs. The fitting is mains-wired (not plug-in) and requires connection to a switched lighting circuit during installation.

The Helion is part of Ideal Lux's Italian-manufactured lighting range and carries a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The integrated LED is not user-replaceable, with the entire module rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use before noticeable output decline.
