In our view a good pendant should do the quiet work of pulling a room together, and this is exactly why we love the way our Hazel Branch Steel Pendant Light draws the eye along its length and settles light where you need it most. At 150cm wide it spans a dining table, a kitchen island or a long console with ease, casting an even glow down the length of the surface below. Suspended on two textile cords, the slim horizontal bar sits low and level, giving you a clean line overhead without crowding the space around it.

We have kept the form deliberately pared back so it works in a wide sweep of interiors. The white and steel finish reads bright and neutral, sitting comfortably against pale walls or lifting a darker scheme, and the shallow 7.2cm profile means it never feels heavy for its reach. Inside, a built-in 40W LED panel gives 1150 lumen at a warm 2700K, a soft colour temperature that flatters food, faces and everyday surfaces, while the CRI of 93 keeps the colours below looking true. At just 1.8kg it is a light fitting in every sense, and assembly takes around ten minutes with the included 3 m cord and metal canopies.

Made from steel, aluminium and plastic, the bar is built to hold its shape and its matt finish over years of daily use, and we back it with a ten-year warranty for reassurance. For styling, we like it hung a little lower than you might expect over a table, so the light falls warmly across place settings, or run centrally above a run of units in a kitchen. Wipe the surface now and then with a soft dry cloth to keep the white looking crisp, and it will hold its own quietly for a very long time.
