Steel, aluminium and plastic come together in our Hazel Branch Brass Pendant Light, a long slim horizontal bar suspended on two cords in a black finish. At 100cm wide, 7.2cm high and just 5.4cm deep, the bar keeps a low, level profile that sits quietly overhead. It weighs 1.8kg, and the form is built on clean lines rather than any bulk, so it reads as a single horizontal stroke of light rather than a fixture that draws attention to itself. We chose to range it for anyone after long, even illumination without a shade or a cluster of separate lamps.

The bar carries a 24W LED panel built into it, giving 1150 lumen at a warm 2700K, which suits dining and living spaces where you want a settled, relaxed light rather than anything cold. With a CRI of 93, colours in the room stay true, so wood tones, fabrics and food all look as they should beneath it. It arrives complete with 3m of textile cord and metal canopies, and assembly takes around ten minutes, so it is straightforward to get up and running once the position is set. The lamp is UKCA and CE marked, and we back it with a 10-year warranty.

Suspended on its two cords, this pendant light works well over a dining table or a kitchen island, or run along a run of worktop where a horizontal spread of light is more useful than a single downward point. We would recommend hanging it low enough to keep the glow across the surface below without sitting in the sightline of anyone at the table.
