This two-door sideboard is a low, freestanding cabinet built from wood and finished in a deep matte black. Standing 84cm high, 123cm wide and 34cm deep, it offers a broad top surface and a shallow footprint that sits neatly against a wall without crowding a room. The two hinged doors open onto internal storage, keeping everyday clutter out of sight while the clean lines of the frame keep the piece looking tidy and considered.

We designed this cabinet to work across the home. In a living room it holds media kit, board games and spare throws, with the flat top ready for a lamp, a stack of books or a run of framed photographs. In a hallway it takes keys, post and gloves, and in a dining space it doubles as a serving surface for plates and glassware. Style it simply by grouping a couple of ceramics and a trailing plant on top, or dress it back with a single vase for a calmer look. The black finish pairs well with pale walls, natural timber floors and warm brass or amber accents, so it settles into both modern and more traditional rooms.

Practicality sits at the heart of this range. The solid wood construction gives it real weight and stability, and the doors close flush to hide contents from view.
