Description
The Halleron is a 305mm diameter outdoor ceiling flush light with three E14 bulb fittings enclosed in a domed seeded glass bowl, framed by decorative bronze metalwork. The flush canopy sits 229mm from ceiling to bottom finial, making it suitable for covered porches, entrance canopies, and gazebos with limited headroom. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm, allowing installation in sheltered outdoor locations.
The seeded glass bowl is textured with thousands of tiny bubbles, visible when off and more pronounced when lit. Three E14 candle bulbs (sold separately, maximum 40W each) sit inside the glass, diffusing light through the textured surface to create ambient rather than task illumination. The bronze finish on the metalwork has a dark antique patina that weathers well outdoors and pairs with brick, stone, timber and painted render finishes.
The decorative band around the canopy features a dentil pattern — small repeating rectangular blocks — referencing Victorian street lantern design. The flush-mount format keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, avoiding head clearance issues in lower porches while still providing 360-degree light distribution. The bronze frame is die-cast metal rather than pressed steel, giving defined edges to the dentil detail and the curved glass supports.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. The Halleron can be installed in covered outdoor locations such as porches, entrance canopies, and gazebos, but should not be exposed to direct rain or hose spray. It is not suitable for fully exposed open-air installation.
What bulbs does it take?
Three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, maximum 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional lantern appearance. Filament-style LED candles work well with the seeded glass.
Can it be fitted to a standard UK ceiling rose?
Yes. The Halleron mounts to a standard UK ceiling electrical box or rose. The 305mm canopy covers typical ceiling box sizes and the 229mm drop includes the canopy thickness, finial and glass bowl.
How is the seeded glass cleaned?
The glass bowl is removable for cleaning. Unscrew the bottom finial to lower the glass, wipe with warm soapy water, rinse and dry before refitting. The seeded texture traps dust more readily than smooth glass, so occasional cleaning maintains light output.
