Description

The Halion is a 200mm circular wall light pairing a brushed brass metal backplate with a white acid-etched glass diffuser. The glass dome sits offset from the brass backing, creating a layered profile where the metal crescent shows around the lower half of the glass. A single GX53 bulb (sold separately) sits behind the glass, casting diffused light forward through the etched surface.

Designed for hallways, bedroom bedside positions, and living room accent walls, the Halion provides soft ambient light rather than directional task light. The offset arrangement directs most light forward into the room while the brass backplate adds a warm metallic accent to the wall surface. The 200mm diameter suits walls with 2.4m+ ceilings without overwhelming smaller hallways or narrow corridors.

The brass finish shows a subtle brushed texture that reduces glare under daylight and pairs well with both contemporary and classical interiors. The white glass is blown and acid-etched, giving a smooth matte surface that diffuses the GX53 bulb evenly without visible hot spots. At IP20, the fitting is suitable for dry indoor environments only — bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and lounges.

The Halion takes a single GX53 bulb (sold separately). GX53 is a flat, round pin-base bulb approximately 75mm in diameter and 25mm deep, available in LED, halogen and energy-saving formats. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GX53 between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting is rated as dimmable. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific GX53 bulb you install — check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before pairing with a dimmer switch.

What rooms is it suitable for?

The IP20 rating limits the Halion to dry indoor environments. It suits bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and living rooms. It is not rated for bathrooms, kitchens with steam exposure, or outdoor use.

How is it fitted?

The brass backplate fixes to a standard wall junction box using concealed screws. The glass diffuser then clips or screws onto the backplate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.
