Gloara Outdoor Bollard Light - Black, 80cm

The Gloara is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from powder-coated black metal with a circular 205mm-diameter head housing a white plastic diffuser. Four G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the diffuser, directing light downward to illuminate pathways, driveways and garden borders without causing upward glare or light pollution.

Designed for residential gardens, commercial pathways and hospitality outdoor spaces, the 80cm height places the light source above typical ground-level planting while remaining below eye level for most adults. The downward light pattern creates pools of illumination along pathways without flooding adjacent planting beds or neighbouring properties with unwanted spill. The bollard mounts directly into the ground on a buried base plate or into a paved surface via a mounting kit, with cable entry through the base of the column.

The IP44 rating protects the lamp against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making the Gloara suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate. The powder-coated black finish resists corrosion and UV degradation better than painted alternatives. The G9 bulbs are dimmable when paired with a compatible outdoor dimmer, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of evening or seasonal daylight changes.

The white diffuser softens the light output from the four G9 bulbs, reducing hotspots and creating a more uniform downward wash. What bulbs does the Gloara take?

The bollard takes four G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-5W LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K for warm pathway lighting. The maximum wattage depends on the specific G9 bulb rating — check the Specification tab or contact us before exceeding 40W total.

Is it suitable for year-round outdoor use?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain, splashes and dust ingress. The powder-coated black metal resists corrosion in typical UK weather conditions. The bollard is designed for permanent outdoor installation.

How is it installed?

The Gloara mounts via a buried base plate in soil or grass, or via a surface-mounting kit on paved areas. Cable entry is through the base of the 80cm column. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure correct outdoor-rated cable protection and earth bonding.

Can the light level be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible outdoor dimmer switch. The bollard itself is dimmer-compatible. Dimmer installation requires mains wiring adjustment and should be done by a qualified electrician.
