Description

The Gloara is a 60cm outdoor bollard light with a powder-coated black metal body and a white plastic diffuser with screen, housing four G9 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately). The bollard casts downward-focused light through the diffuser, illuminating pathways, driveways, garden borders and patio edges without upward spill.

Designed for residential and light commercial outdoor installation, the Gloara suits modern and contemporary garden schemes where path lighting needs to be functional rather than decorative. The 60cm height positions the light source below typical eye level when standing, reducing glare for approaching pedestrians. The 205mm diameter footprint gives stability on paving, gravel or set into soft ground with a ground spike or foundation plate.

The powder-coated black finish resists corrosion and UV degradation in outdoor exposure, and the IP44 rating protects the electrical components from rain and dust ingress. The four-bulb configuration provides higher output than single-bulb bollards, making the Gloara suitable for wider pathways or driveways where a single bollard needs to cover a 2-3m width. The bollard is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 dimmable bulbs and an outdoor-rated dimmer circuit.

What bulbs does the Gloara take?

The bollard takes four G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 2-5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for path lighting. Halogen G9 bulbs are also compatible but draw higher wattage and generate more heat.

Is it suitable for wet outdoor conditions?

Yes. The IP44 rating means the bollard is protected from solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for exposed garden positions, driveways and patios. It is not submersible and should not be installed in areas prone to pooling water or flood risk.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and wired to an outdoor-rated dimmer circuit. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb model chosen — check bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer.

How is it installed?

The bollard can be surface-mounted onto paving or a concrete base using the fixing holes in the base plate, or installed with a ground spike (check if supplied or sold separately). Electrical connection requires outdoor-rated cable run from a waterproof junction box or exterior mains circuit.
