Glintwave Outdoor Bollard Light - Brown

The Glintwave is a 750mm outdoor bollard light with a cylindrical matt brown aluminium body and a vertical rectangular aperture cut through one side. A single G9 bulb fitting inside the column casts light downward and outward through the aperture, creating a defined blade of illumination across paving or pathways. The rounded top cap prevents rain ingress while the circular base plate fixes to concrete or paving slabs.

Designed for garden pathways, driveway edges, patio perimeters and terrace lighting, the Glintwave provides low-level wayfinding without glare at eye height. The bollard sits at knee-to-mid-thigh height on most users, making it suitable for path marking where taller posts would obstruct sightlines or where lighting needs to stay below fence or planting height. The IP44 rating protects against rain and dust, allowing year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate.

The matt brown finish on the turned aluminium body provides a warmer alternative to black or grey bollards, pairing well with brick, terracotta, natural stone paving and terracotta-toned render. The 135mm diameter gives the bollard a slender profile that integrates into planted borders without dominating the visual line. The G9 fitting accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs (sold separately), giving control over colour temperature and wattage depending on how much light output is needed.

The rectangular aperture design directs light predominantly forward and downward rather than radiating in all directions, which reduces light spill into neighbouring properties and keeps illumination focused on the ground plane. The aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and damp climates, and the matt finish hides minor surface marks that develop over time on outdoor metalwork.

What bulb does the Glintwave take?

The bollard takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). Most users fit a 3-5W G9 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for pathway lighting, though halogen G9 bulbs up to the fitting's maximum rated wattage are also compatible if brighter output is needed.

Can it be used in wet locations like near a pond or pool?

The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing but not submersion or direct water jets. The bollard is safe for garden pathways, driveways and patios exposed to UK weather, but should not be installed where it could be submerged or directly hosed down during cleaning.

Is the Glintwave dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible outdoor dimmer or smart switch. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb chosen, so check the bulb specification before installation.

How is it installed?

The circular base plate fixes to a solid surface (concrete, paving slab, compacted gravel over a concrete pad) using appropriate masonry fixings. An IP-rated cable gland or conduit entry feeds mains cable into the base. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure IP44 integrity and compliance with UK outdoor wiring regulations.
