Description

The Glintis is a 120mm diameter outdoor LED bollard light with a grey powder-coated aluminium body and an integrated 9.5W 3000K LED behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The IP44 rating protects the internal components against splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for garden pathways, patio edges, driveways and terrace perimeters exposed to rain.

Designed for ground-level installation on pathways and boundary lighting where visible orientation is needed after dark, the bollard stands approximately 500mm tall (exact height specification available in the table below). The opal diffuser spreads the 3000K warm white light in a 360-degree pattern around the base, reducing glare and providing enough visibility for safe navigation without overwhelming planting or seating areas. The bollard mounts directly onto paving, gravel or lawn edges using a ground spike or base plate, depending on the surface type.

The grey aluminium body resists corrosion in UK coastal and inland environments and requires no painting or seasonal maintenance beyond occasional cleaning with a damp cloth. The 9.5W LED delivers comparable output to a 60W incandescent bulb while drawing minimal running cost, and the integrated LED design removes the need for bulb replacement over the typical lifespan of the fitting. What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. Integrated LEDs typically last 25,000-50,000 hours depending on usage, which is approximately 10-20 years of evening-only operation. The 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers LED failure during that period.

How is the bollard installed?

The Glintis can be installed using a ground spike for soil or lawn, or a base plate for hard surfaces like paving or concrete. Installation requires a mains electrical connection via an outdoor-rated cable run, typically installed by a qualified electrician to meet UK wiring regulations.

Is the light output adjustable or dimmable?

No. The integrated 9.5W LED operates at full output only and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The 3000K warm white colour temperature and output level are fixed.
