Description
The Glintis is a 750mm outdoor LED bollard light built around a cylindrical opal acrylic diffuser mounted on a powder-coated black aluminium post. An integrated 9.5W LED inside the diffuser casts 4000K neutral white light in a 360-degree pattern, lighting pathways, driveways and garden borders without requiring separate bulbs or ongoing lamp replacements.
Designed for pathway and perimeter lighting in domestic gardens, the Glintis fixes to a ground-level base plate using concealed wiring through the post. The IP44 rating provides protection against rain and splashes, making the bollard suitable for installation along driveways exposed to weather, around patios with occasional water exposure, and beside paths that run near sprinkler zones. The 750mm height positions the light source at mid-shin level, where it illuminates the ground plane without casting direct glare into passing sightlines.
The powder-coated black aluminium finish resists corrosion and fading under UV exposure, maintaining its appearance through seasonal cycles. The opal diffuser softens the LED point source into an even glow that marks pathway edges and provides sufficient ground illumination for safe navigation after dark. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white domestic lighting and cooler commercial daylight, producing a neutral tone that works across both traditional and contemporary garden designs.
Each bollard draws 9.5W on 230V mains, equivalent to approximately 80-90 lumens per watt depending on LED efficiency. The integrated LED has no user-replaceable parts — the entire luminaire is designed as a sealed unit for outdoor longevity. Ideal Lux backs the Glintis with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and premature LED failure.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The Glintis can handle rain, garden spray and splashes from nearby water features, but is not suitable for submersion or high-pressure jet washing directly onto the unit.
Can the LED be replaced?
No. The 9.5W LED is integrated into the bollard as a sealed unit. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000-50,000 hours of operation, which translates to 10-15 years of typical evening-only use. If the LED fails within the 5-year warranty period, the entire luminaire is replaced.
What height above ground does it stand?
The Glintis stands approximately 750mm tall from the base plate to the top of the diffuser. This positions the light at mid-shin to knee height, where it illuminates pathways without causing direct glare for people walking past.
How is it wired and installed?
The bollard requires mains 230V wiring run underground in armoured cable or suitable conduit to a ground-level junction point. The cable enters through the base of the post and connects internally. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician familiar with outdoor lighting circuits and IP-rated connections.
