Glintis Outdoor LED Bollard Light - Black, 3000K, 9.5W

The Glintis is a 50cm outdoor LED bollard light built from powder-coated aluminium with an integrated 9.5W LED light source emitting warm 3000K light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The cylindrical housing sits on a circular base plate measuring 120mm in diameter, designed for surface mounting on pathways, garden borders, driveways and patios.

The IP44 rating protects the internal components against splashes from any direction, making the Glintis suitable for exposed outdoor positions subject to rain and garden irrigation without requiring additional weatherproofing. The black powder-coated finish resists corrosion and fading under UV exposure, maintaining its colour over multiple seasons. The bollard is typically installed at 1.5-2.5m intervals along pathway edges or around seating areas to provide consistent foot-level illumination without glare at eye level.

The opal diffuser spreads light across a 360-degree horizontal plane, creating a soft glow that marks boundaries and steps without creating harsh shadows or bright spots. At 9.5W the bollard delivers enough output to light a 2-3m radius of pathway or border planting while consuming approximately 84kWh per year when run dusk-to-dawn. The non-dimmable LED is hardwired into the unit and cannot be replaced separately — the entire light assembly is treated as a sealed unit with a 5-year warranty covering the LED driver and housing.

Can the Glintis be used on a lawn or only on hard surfaces?

The circular base plate is designed for surface mounting on hard surfaces such as paving, concrete, decking or tarmac. For lawn installation the bollard would need to be mounted on a small concrete pad or paving slab set flush with the grass to provide a stable fixing point.

Is the LED replaceable if it fails?

No. The LED is integrated into the sealed housing and cannot be replaced separately. The entire bollard is covered by a 5-year warranty, and if the LED fails within that period Ideal Lux will replace the complete unit.

How far apart should bollards be spaced along a pathway?

For continuous pathway lighting, spacing the Glintis at 1.5-2.5m intervals provides overlapping pools of light. Closer spacing suits formal gardens or areas needing higher illumination, while wider spacing works for marking pathway edges where ambient light exists.

What wiring is required for installation?

The Glintis requires mains 230V AC wiring run underground in suitable outdoor-rated conduit or SWA cable to each bollard position. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to comply with UK wiring regulations for outdoor lighting circuits.
