Description

The Glintis is a 300mm LED bathroom mirror light with an integrated 9.5W 3000K LED housed inside a cylindrical white powder-coated aluminium body. An opal polycarbonate diffuser at the front provides even light distribution across the 300mm length, eliminating hotspots and shadows typical of bare LED strip installations. The fitting carries an IP44 rating for splash protection in bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for installation above bathroom mirrors and vanity units, the Glintis mounts on a rectangular backplate with a 70mm projection from the wall. The horizontal cylinder directs light down onto the mirror surface and basin area, providing task lighting for grooming, shaving and makeup application without casting shadows on the user's face. The 300mm length suits mirrors between 500-800mm wide.

The powder-coated aluminium construction resists moisture and corrosion in bathroom environments where condensation and water splashes are common. The white finish integrates cleanly with white-tiled bathrooms and pairs neutrally with chrome, brushed nickel and brass bathroom fittings. The 3000K warm white colour temperature provides a softer morning light than cooler daylight-rated LEDs, reducing harsh blue tones on skin.

Is the Glintis suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2?

The IP44 rating makes the Glintis suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, where it is protected from water splashes but not direct jets. For installation directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure (zone 1), a higher IP rating is required.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 9.5W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux LEDs are rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which translates to around 15 years at 5 hours per day.

What mirror width does the 300mm length suit?

The 300mm light length works best above mirrors between 500-800mm wide. For wider mirrors, consider installing two Glintis fittings spaced symmetrically, or look at longer LED mirror light options in the Niori range.

Can it be installed vertically?

The Glintis is designed for horizontal installation above mirrors. Vertical installation is mechanically possible but will alter the light distribution pattern, directing light sideways rather than down onto the mirror surface.
