Description

The Glintis is a 300mm LED bathroom mirror light with a horizontal cylindrical profile in brown powder-coated cast aluminium and an opal polycarbonate diffuser. An integrated 9.5W LED runs the full length of the tube, emitting 3000K warm white light through the diffuser to provide even, shadow-reducing illumination across a mirror or vanity area.

Designed for bathroom zone 2 installation with an IP44 rating, the Glintis fits above or beside mirrors in bathrooms, en-suites and cloakrooms. The 300mm width suits small to medium mirrors between 500-800mm wide, and the 70mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow spaces over basin units. The brown finish pairs with timber vanities, warm-toned tiles and neutral bathroom schemes.

The cast aluminium body provides durability in humid environments where lighter materials would corrode, and the powder coating resists moisture ingress and daily cleaning with standard bathroom cleaners. The opal diffuser hides the LED strip behind it while spreading light evenly along the length of the fitting, preventing the spotting effect of visible LED dots. The fitting is non-dimmable and wired directly to mains 230V via a back plate that conceals the cable entry.

What bathroom zones is the Glintis rated for?

The IP44 rating makes the Glintis suitable for bathroom zone 2 and zone 3. Zone 2 covers areas above the bath and shower to a height of 2.25m and within 60cm of taps and water outlets. The fitting is not rated for zone 0 or zone 1 (inside shower enclosures or directly above baths).

Is the LED replaceable?

The 9.5W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which equates to over 10 years of typical daily use in a bathroom setting. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.

What size mirror does it suit?

The 300mm length works best with mirrors between 500-800mm wide. For larger mirrors, consider multiple Glintis fittings spaced evenly, or one of the longer variants in the Glintis range if available.

Can it be installed vertically?

The Glintis is designed for horizontal installation above or beside a mirror. Vertical mounting may interfere with the light distribution and is not recommended by the manufacturer.
