Description

The Gleonis is a 20cm spherical wall light with a matt white metal backplate and a polycarbonate diffuser globe featuring a paper-effect coating. The single E27 bulb fitting inside the sphere casts light through the textured polycarbonate, diffusing it evenly across the sphere's surface to create soft ambient illumination without harsh glare or visible filament.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms, the Gleonis functions as both a decorative accent and functional light source. The 20cm diameter suits installation in pairs flanking a mirror, above bedside tables, or as solo accent lighting in smaller rooms where a ceiling fitting would overpower the space. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only. The light mounts directly to a standard UK wall box and the sphere sits approximately 100mm proud of the wall once fitted.

The matt white finish on the metal backplate pairs with the frosted white polycarbonate to create a monochrome fitting that recedes into white or light-coloured walls or contrasts cleanly against darker paint. The polycarbonate construction makes the fitting lighter and more impact-resistant than glass equivalents. The E27 fitting accepts any standard screw-base LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage specified, and the light is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb.

The Gleonis takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. For soft ambient lighting most users pair this with a 6-10W warm white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but the bulb and dimmer must also be rated for dimming to function correctly.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas. It cannot be used in bathroom zones 1, 2 or 3 where splashing or high moisture is present. For bathrooms, install only in zone 0 (areas with no direct water contact and low humidity).

How far does it project from the wall?

The 20cm sphere sits approximately 100mm proud of the wall once the backplate is mounted. This projection should be considered when installing above furniture or in narrow hallways.
