Description

The Glacia is a 300mm diameter round ceiling canopy designed to support three pendant light cables from a single ceiling rose. The white powder-coated metal plate sits flush against the ceiling and distributes the weight of three separate pendants across a larger surface area than a standard rose cover, making it suitable for multi-pendant installations over kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters.

Three cable exit points are pre-drilled around the circumference of the plate, allowing each pendant to be positioned at equal spacing for symmetrical arrangements or clustered for asymmetric groupings depending on the cable lengths chosen. The canopy connects to a standard UK ceiling rose behind the plate and conceals the wiring entry point, so only the white metal disc and the three pendant cables are visible from below.

The 300mm diameter provides enough coverage to hide minor ceiling imperfections around the rose fitting and gives a cleaner finish than running three separate pendants from individual ceiling points. The white powder coat matches standard ceiling paint tones and sits back visually, allowing the pendant shades themselves to dominate the sightline. The metal construction carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.

Frequently Asked

How many pendants can this canopy support?

The Glacia has three cable exit points and is designed for three separate pendant lights. The weight capacity depends on the ceiling rose behind the canopy — check the rose rating before installation if using heavy pendants.

Does it come with the ceiling rose or just the cover plate?

This is the canopy cover plate only. You will need a standard UK ceiling rose already installed in the ceiling. The Glacia plate mounts over the rose to conceal it and provide the three cable exit points.

Can the cable exit points be repositioned?

The three exit holes are pre-drilled at fixed positions around the plate circumference. The spacing between pendants is adjusted by varying the cable lengths and the drop from each exit point, not by moving the holes themselves.

What ceiling height is needed for multi-pendant installations?

Multi-pendant arrangements typically work best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, allowing the pendants to hang 600-800mm above a table or worktop without obstructing head clearance. Lower ceilings can still work if shorter drop cables are used.
