Description

The Gentry is a 297mm diameter lantern-style pendant with clear curved glass panels framed in polished brass, housing four E14 candle bulbs on white candle sleeves inside the glass chamber. The curved glass forms a cylindrical enclosure with slightly bowed panels, providing 360-degree visibility of the candle arrangement and allowing unobstructed light throw from all sides.

Designed for hallways, entrance areas, dining rooms and staircases, the pendant suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards with its 600-2169mm adjustable drop range. The chain suspension allows the drop to be set during installation to position the pendant 700-900mm above a table or 1800-2000mm above a hallway floor depending on the room proportions. The polished brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain conceals the cable run.

The polished brass frame and fittings provide a high-gloss warm metallic finish that reflects ambient light and pairs with traditional, Georgian and transitional interiors. Each of the four candle positions inside the lantern takes a standard E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose between traditional filament candles, LED candles or flame-effect candles depending on the aesthetic required. The total 494mm fitting height combined with the 297mm diameter gives the pendant sufficient presence for entrance halls and dining spaces without overwhelming rooms under 4m wide.

The Gentry takes four E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K for traditional ambience, or clear filament-style LED candles for a more decorative appearance.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop of 600-2169mm suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface. For entrance halls and staircases the pendant can be set higher to clear head height while remaining visually balanced.

Is the glass removable for cleaning?

Yes. The curved glass panels are held in the brass frame by removable fixings, allowing the glass to be lifted out for cleaning. The brass frame can be wiped with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the polished brass finish.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

At minimum drop (600mm) plus the 494mm fitting height, the bottom of the pendant sits 1094mm below the ceiling rose. This works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings if the pendant is positioned away from main walkways, but may feel intrusive in smaller hallways or rooms under 2.5m ceiling height.
