Description

The Francoise is a single-light wall bracket in burnished brass with a ribbed frosted glass shade and decorative cast backplate. The oval backplate carries beaded edging and raised scroll detail, while the shade holder extends on a turned brass arm with a ball joint at the wall and a flared cup detail beneath the glass. The fitting includes one 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb.

Rated IP44 for protection against water splashes, the Francoise suits bathroom installation above mirrors or flanking vanity units, as well as hallways, landings and bedroom dressing areas where traditional detailing fits the scheme. The 178mm projection from the wall and 273mm height give the fitting presence without dominating narrow corridors or small bathrooms. The frosted ribbed glass diffuses the G9 LED evenly, softening shadows around the fitting.

The burnished brass finish shows tonal variation across the cast metal, with darker patina settling into the recessed scroll details on the backplate and lighter highlights on the raised edges and turned elements. This finish pairs with warm-toned interiors, traditional joinery and heritage bathroom fittings in polished or antique brass. Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making the Francoise suitable for installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3. This includes positions above sinks, mirrors and bathtubs where the fitting is not directly in line with shower spray or within the immediate splash zone of a bath or basin.

Is the LED bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting is supplied with a 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb which can be replaced when it reaches end of life. Standard G9 LED bulbs are widely available and the socket accepts any G9 capsule up to the 3W maximum rating.

What colour is the light output?

The supplied G9 LED operates at 3000K, which produces a warm white light comparable to traditional incandescent bulbs. This colour temperature suits period and traditional interiors where cooler white light would feel out of place.

How is the fitting mounted?

The oval backplate fixes to a standard UK wall box using two screws concealed behind the decorative plate. The fitting requires a mains connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician. The 178mm projection from the wall should be considered when positioning near doorways or in narrow corridors.
