Description

The Fort Smart Burglar Alarm Kit 6 is a wireless home security system built around a WiFi-connected smart hub with GSM backup, two pet-immune PIR motion detectors, two door/window magnetic contacts, and two wireless key fobs. The hub connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network for app-based arming, disarming and real-time alerts sent to a smartphone, with GSM mobile network backup if the WiFi connection drops or power is cut.

Designed for homes, small offices and outbuildings where traditional hardwired alarm systems are impractical, the Fort kit installs without cables between sensors and the hub. The 433MHz RF transmission operates over an 80-metre open-field range, with typical indoor range reduced by walls and interference but sufficient for most 3-4 bedroom properties. The pet-immune PIRs ignore animals up to approximately 25kg, reducing false alarms from cats and small dogs while still detecting human movement.

The hub houses a 95dB siren that activates on intrusion, and a backup battery provides up to 8 hours of standby time if mains power is lost. The system supports up to 32 wireless devices in total, allowing additional PIRs, contacts, smoke detectors and panic buttons to be added as the property layout or security requirements change. No subscription fees or monitoring contracts are required — all alerts are sent directly to the owner's phone via the Fort app.

Each component mounts using double-sided tape or screws. The hub requires mains power and a SIM card (not included) for GSM backup. The two key fobs provide one-touch arming and disarming without needing to open the app, and each fob includes an SOS panic button that triggers an immediate alert.

Does this require a monthly subscription?

No. The Fort system sends alerts directly to your smartphone via the app over WiFi or GSM. There are no monitoring contracts, subscription fees or ongoing costs beyond the initial purchase.

What's included in the kit?

One smart hub with built-in 95dB siren and backup battery, two pet-immune PIR motion detectors, two door/window magnetic contacts, and two wireless key fobs with arm/disarm and SOS buttons.

Do I need a SIM card for the GSM backup?

The hub works over WiFi without a SIM card, but adding a SIM (not included) enables GSM backup if WiFi drops or mains power is cut. Most users add a low-cost pay-as-you-go SIM for backup SMS alerts.

Can I add more sensors later?

Yes. The hub supports up to 32 wireless devices in total. Additional PIRs, door contacts, smoke detectors, flood sensors and panic buttons compatible with the Fort system can be paired via the app as needed.
