Description

The Focus LED 42mm round honeycomb filter is a snap-on accessory for Maytoni Focus LED track spotlights, designed to reduce glare and narrow the beam spread. The filter sits 3mm deep and comprises a black aluminium honeycomb grid that blocks peripheral light rays while allowing the central beam to pass through undiffused. This narrows the effective beam angle and reduces reflections off glossy surfaces, glass and polished metals.

The filter suits galleries, retail displays, hospitality and residential track lighting where controlling spill light and reducing glare improves visual comfort. It clips directly onto the front of compatible Focus LED track heads without tools or additional fixings, and can be removed and refitted as needed. The 42mm diameter matches the bezel diameter of the standard Focus LED spotlight range.

The honeycomb grid is formed from black-anodised aluminium rather than plastic, giving it durability under the heat output of LED track heads and resistance to warping or discolouration over time. The black finish absorbs stray light inside the honeycomb cells, preventing internal reflections that would otherwise reduce the anti-glare effect. Each cell in the grid acts as a directional baffle, blocking light rays that would otherwise scatter outside the main beam cone.

Frequently Asked

Which Focus LED spotlights is this compatible with?

The 42mm diameter matches the bezel size of the standard Maytoni Focus LED track spotlight range. Check the bezel diameter of your specific track head model before ordering to confirm compatibility.

How does the honeycomb filter reduce glare?

The honeycomb grid acts as a series of directional baffles. Each hexagonal cell blocks light rays travelling at wide angles to the central beam axis, allowing only the more direct rays to pass through. This narrows the effective beam spread and reduces reflections off glossy surfaces.

Does it reduce light output?

Yes, by blocking peripheral light rays. The central beam intensity remains largely unchanged, but the overall lumen output reaching surfaces outside the main beam cone is reduced. This is the intended function — controlling where light goes rather than how much is produced.

Can the filter be removed and reused?

Yes. The filter clips onto the front bezel of the track head and can be removed by hand without tools. It can be refitted multiple times without degrading the clip mechanism or the honeycomb structure.
