Description

The Maytoni Focus is a cylindrical track spotlight designed for 3-circuit Trinity track systems, with a GU10 fitting housed in a matt black aluminium body. The spotlight measures 60mm diameter by 130mm length, with an overall projection of 235mm from the track when the head is angled. The cylindrical head swivels approximately 350° horizontally and tilts to direct light onto wall features, retail displays, artwork or architectural details.

Designed for accent and task lighting rather than general room illumination, the Focus suits retail environments, gallery spaces, kitchens with track lighting over worktops, and living rooms where specific objects or surfaces need highlighting. The 3-circuit Trinity track system allows individual control of multiple spotlights grouped on different circuits, so sections can be switched independently. The GU10 base accepts standard GU10 LED or halogen bulbs up to 10W (sold separately), giving flexibility over beam angle, colour temperature and dimmer compatibility.

The matt black finish on the aluminium body absorbs reflections under ambient light and recedes visually when ceiling-mounted, keeping attention on the lit surface rather than the fitting itself. The compact 60mm diameter means multiple Focus spotlights can be fitted along a single track run without crowding, typically spaced 400-600mm apart depending on beam angle and the width of the surface being lit. A 3-circuit track allows three separate electrical circuits to run along a single track rail, so spotlights can be grouped onto different switches or dimmer channels. The Focus spotlight fits Maytoni's Trinity 3-circuit track and can be assigned to any of the three circuits via an adapter on the fitting's mounting collar.

What GU10 bulb should I use?

The fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb up to 10W. For accent lighting on artwork or retail displays, a narrow 25-36° beam angle works well. For lighting wider surfaces like kitchen worktops, a 60° beam spreads the light more evenly. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can the spotlight angle be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cylindrical head swivels horizontally approximately 350° and tilts to angle the beam up, down or across. The swivel joint holds position through friction, so the head stays where you set it without needing to tighten a lock screw.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The 235mm projection from the track to the end of the spotlight means it works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above without the head dropping into typical sightlines. In lower-ceiling spaces the compact 60mm diameter keeps the fitting visually unobtrusive.
