Description

The Focus is a 125mm cylindrical surface mounted downlight in matt black aluminium with an integrated 12W LED and a honeycomb diffuser at the aperture. The 52mm diameter opening casts a 50° beam angle of warm 3000K light directly downward, designed for ceiling mounting without the need for recessed housings or cut-outs in the plasterboard.

Surface mounting makes the Focus suitable for ceilings where recessed downlights are not practical — solid concrete ceilings, shallow ceiling voids under 100mm, or situations where running cables and cutting apertures would be difficult. The 125mm projection from the ceiling creates a visible cylinder that works as architectural detail in commercial and residential spaces, particularly in modern interiors where the fitting is part of the visual language rather than hidden. The honeycomb diffuser visible at the aperture softens the LED array without losing the directional quality of the beam.

The aluminium body is finished in a textured matt black that reduces reflections under daylight. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — living rooms, kitchens, hallways, home offices and retail spaces. The AC 165-265V driver tolerates voltage fluctuation and the 12W output draws approximately 1,100 lumens, making the fitting suitable as task lighting over kitchen worktops, accent lighting in hallways or focused illumination in bedrooms where ambient light is provided by a separate source.

Yes. Surface mounting is the key advantage of this fitting — it requires only a ceiling rose and fixing screws, with no need to cut apertures into the ceiling substrate. This makes it suitable for solid concrete, shallow voids and plasterboard where recessed downlights cannot be installed.

Is the LED dimmable?

The integrated LED requires a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Not all dimmers work with the AC 165-265V driver in this fitting, so dimmer compatibility should be confirmed before installation.

What beam angle does it produce?

The 50° beam angle creates a focused pool of light directly beneath the fitting, rather than broad room wash. This makes the Focus more suitable for task lighting, accent lighting or layered schemes where multiple fittings are used, rather than as a sole light source in a large room.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require fittings rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
