Florida 4 Light Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Brown/Black Oxide

The Florida is a 4-light semi-flush ceiling light with four amber frosted fluted glass shades shaped like opening flower petals, radiating from a central brown/black oxide mount. Each shade sits on a curved metal arm that extends approximately 350mm from the centre, giving the fitting an overall span of 700mm. The fluted glass diffuses light softly through the amber tone, casting warm pools of illumination rather than direct downlight.

Designed for rooms with standard or lower ceiling heights (2.4-2.7m), the semi-flush format projects only 280mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where a flush or near-flush fitting is required but decorative presence is still wanted. The four E14 bulbs (sold separately) are positioned behind the fluted glass, so filament or flame-tip bulbs show through the amber frost when the light is on, adding to the traditional character.

The brown/black oxide finish on the metal arms and central boss is a dark brown-black patina that reads warmer than plain matt black, pairing well with traditional, cottage and country interiors that use exposed timber, terracotta or warm-toned stone. The amber frosted glass echoes the warmth of the metal finish and prevents glare from bare bulbs. Each fluted shade curves outward like a lily petal, giving the fitting a sculptural quality when viewed from below.

The Florida is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be adjusted from bright task light at dinner to soft ambient light in the evening. The 1.8kg weight requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting semi-flush fittings; most modern plasterboard ceilings with joists or noggins at the fixing point are adequate.

What bulbs does the Florida take?

The fitting takes four E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair it with 4-6W LED candle or flame-tip bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to complement the amber glass. The fluted shades hide the bulb detail when off but show the filament or LED through the amber frost when lit.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design projects only 280mm from the ceiling, making it appropriate for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 700mm diameter requires adequate space around the fitting, so it works best in rooms at least 3m wide.

Can it be dimmed?
